Leading Cause of Death
U.S. Males and Females
The
leading cause of death in the United States is heart disease. Heart
disease is one of the most preventable causes of death. It all depends
on the choices you make everyday. Whether or not you get up and
exercise, eat healthily and handle your stress level affects your risk
of heart problems.
Cancer
is the second leading cause of death, and the most common kind is lung
cancer. Although we do not know what exactly causes cancer, we do know
that things like tobacco in cigarettes can increase your risk by a lot.
There
are many other leading causes of death. Out of the top 10 at least 5 of
them are preventable, or they have something you can do to reduce your
risk factor.
